About

Ravenswatch is an 18+ online gaming community, focused on playing multiplayer games together. We strive to work together to have a good time in the games we play. Our community maintains its own private hosting platform to minimize the barriers to gaming together. We value having a good time over being top of the leaderboard; we understand everyone has real-life commitments that come first. Our community comes from all walks of life: whether you’re looking for a dedicated group of gamers or you just want to hang out in chat, we welcome anyone willing to work together to help build a great community, but if you’re looking for a safe space, this isn’t it.

Games we play

We believe that a community is defined by what they do together. While it would be impossible to list every game we play, these serve as a few examples of the games that interest our community.

Star Citizen

Ravenswatch Interstellar is our dedicated game division for Star Citizen. While we play many games, Star Citizen is the primary one that we actively recruit for. Members are not required to play, but many of us do and we’re always looking for more citizens to join us in the ‘verse. Check out our RSI org page for more information.

Hosting

Our community maintains a game hosting platform for members to use at no cost. Similar to most paid game hosting services, we have an easy-to-use web management portal and support a variety of games: if the game has a dedicated server, we can probably run it. After you have an account there is no waiting around for an admin to set up your server, if you want to host something, you can just log in and start it up.

The history of Ravenswatch:

The Minecraft Server

The Minecraft Server

During the alpha and beta stages of Minecraft, what would eventually become Ravenswatch got its start as a Minecraft server for a few friends. The Pickle Jar, named after dy1io’s username of the time, was opened up as a public server in 2012, garnering a small following.

The Pickle Jar

For nearly a decade, The Pickle Jar was a place for friends to game together, as our community grew so did our interestes. The original Minecraft server was eventually retired, but the community lived on through various other games and platforms.

After a few years away, Ravenswatch Gaming was co-founded by dy1io and Jackhigh as the spiritual successor to The Pickle Jar. Over the years, many of the members have gone through various seasons of life. From college to marriage, starting families, changing jobs, and more: Ravenswatch is a way to escape from the everyday chaos and connect with others through a shared passion for gaming.
